Looking for the best things to do in Jersey City this weekend? Weekends are the perfect time to enjoy all the wonderful events happening in the city. Here’s our list of local happenings for you to check out — we’ve got you covered!

Friday, June 7

Art. RIPT Dispensary is having a free art show starting at 5 p.m. with a live painting demo and giveaways all night long!

Art. Join Jersey City Birds at New Park Tavern from 7 p.m. to 12 a.m. You’ll be inspired by art and photography from local artists and birders, and you can listen to the Penniless Loafers, a local ska band.

Bike. Join Hoboken Cycling Club for an evening bike ride.

Comedy. Grab your tickets to The Laugh Tour Show with comedy performances on Friday and Saturday nights.

Craft Beer. Head to Liberty State Park and treat yourself to various craft beers with over 100 to choose from!

Documentary. Sip Studios is premiering the exclusive screening of Grateful Deaf, a documentary about the unique journey of Deafheads and how they shaped a world of inclusivity and access at live music venues.

Game Night. Bring your games and head to Panera Bread in Hoboken to play with other board game enthusiasts!

Garage Sale. Smush Gallery is hosting a family garage sale starting at 12 p.m.

Jazz. Enjoy a night of jazz and art at the Majestic Theatre Lobby, hosted by Wandering Lights Project.

Local Market. Explore the Handmade Market, an open-air bazaar featuring local artists and makers selling fine art and premium hand-crafted goods.

Music. DJ Bizz Nice will be playing at 902 Brewery for Joyride Friday. And happy hour is from 3pm to 6pm!

Music. Enjoy live acoustic performances featuring the Will O’Connor Trio at Battello.

Music. Jam out to The Menzingers, a punk rock band, at White Eagle Hall.

Music. Enjoy live music at Departed Soles, featuring Nick Rifken!

Music. Enjoy a free outdoor concert at Grove Street Path. There are a variety of artists playing from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., from Segunda Quimbamba, Puerto Rician music, to Debra Devi, a blues rock band.

Music. Check out Hudson City Rats, a rock band, at Fox and Crow

Reiki Sound Bath. 
Our friends at Sol Spirit are hosting a sound bath infused with Reiki healing energy. This event starts at 8:30 p.m.

Run. Join Jersey City Runners for a morning run. Runners of all levels are welcome to join!

Saturday, June 8

Adoption. AHS is hosting an in-person adoptable dogs event at Pier 13 in Hoboken from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Art. Join Victory Point for a miniature painting night starting at 1 p.m.

Communal Dinner. Join Next Door Provisions on Saturday, June 8th and/or Sunday, June 9th for a "hands-on" Filipino feast by Chef Jason & Chef Ruby with a wine pairing.

Day Retreat. Visit the Box Cafe for their Summer Solstice Day Retreat. Enjoy a welcome wellness shot, nourishing lunch, baking design, meditative park walk, inspired journaling, intro to crystal healing, and a sound bath meditation. This event is from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Festival. JC Families is hosting their Summer Fest, a fun-filled day for the whole family featuring water games, arts and crafts, face painting, and more. The event is in The Heights from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Flea Market. Pacific Flea is having their outdoor vintage market featuring antiques, vintage clothes, handmade jewelry, records, and more! This event is from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Local Market. Explore the Handmade Market, an open-air bazaar featuring local artists and makers selling fine art and premium hand-crafted goods. The market is open from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Martial Arts. Learn empty hand combat techniques and weapons conditioning with the 21st Century Scientific Wing Chun Initiative. The event is split into two sessions over the weekend - all skill levels welcome.

Music. Enjoy Lara Herscovitch, a new folk/Americana singer-songwriter, at Fox and Crow in The Heights. She will be playing from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Music. Listen to Squad Quartet at Belle Ame Cafe from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Music. Jam out to The Menzingers, a punk rock band, at White Eagle Hall.

Music Festival. LoFi is hosting their annual music festival with a variety of artists playing from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Kayak Adventure. Make new friends and explore the beauty of Sawmill Creek Marsh, Anderson Creek Marsh, and other great wildlife areas. Register with Hackensack Riverkeeper and enjoy stunning views of the urban wilderness from the water!

Plant Lovers. There is a free plant swap at Barrow Mansion from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Photography. Check out the opening reception of an interactive photography exhibit at Casa Colombo, an Italian Cultural Center.

Spring Concert. North River Sing, a community chorus, is performing in Hamilton Park at 2 p.m.

Street Fair. Visit Bayonne for their annual street fair with over 100 vendors, two stages of live music, carnival games, and a beer garden!

Trading Cards. Buy, sell and trade card with fellow collectors at Departed Soles. There will be free giveaways and pack wars!

Volunteer. Hoboken Cove Community Boathouse invites you to its introductory volunteer session this Saturday. They offer free kayaking, paddle boarding, and outrigger canoeing during the warm months. Help support their mission and make a difference in our community!

Wellness Block Party. Salvation Wellness presents a wellness festival in downtown Jersey City with a unique blend of activities and experiences to engage and inspire, from meditation classes, group reiki, and infused cocktail making to a drag show and more!

Sunday, June 9

Book Lovers. Gather with Jersey City Reads in Hamilton Park for a silent reading session. They meet at 2 p.m.

Farmer's Market.
The Riverview Farmer's Market is open every Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Riverview Park.

Floral Workshop. Create your own floral bouquet in Hoboken! Tickets include your own bouquet, gift bag, light snacks and optionaly mini photoshoot.

Local Market. Check out Jersey City Oddities Market's The Living Dead Market at Harsimus Cemetery. Admissions support the historic site!

Movie Night. Visit Dull Boy for their Sunday movie night. Enjoy some delicious cocktails while watching a classic film!

Music. Enjoy some Reggae music at Harry’s Daughter every Sunday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Music. Listen to Irish Traditional music at The Hutton every Sunday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Run Club. Join The Grind Society with their weekly morning run. Runners of all levels are welcome to join!

Walkers. Join Free Walkers for a 7-mile walk through Liberty State Park. The walk starts at 8 a.m.!
