Looking for the best things to do in Jersey City this weekend? Weekends are the perfect time to enjoy all the wonderful events happening in the city. Here’s our list of local happenings for you to check out — we’ve got you covered!

Friday, June 14

Art. Opening Reception makes its first appearance in front of audiences! This performance piece flips the art world’s traditional celebratory soiree on its head. Tickets are available for both Friday and Saturday night.

Bourbon. Enjoy delicious and refreshing bourbon cocktails from some of the best brands at your favorite Hoboken bars and restaurants. This bourbon cocktail tasting runs until June 16.

Candle Making. Lucky Honeybee is teaching a candle-making workshop in their store!

Comedy. The 2024 Jersey City Comedy Festival features five stand-up comedy competition showcases. Two winners from each showcase (an audience pick and an industry pick) will perform in a final competition where they can win cash prizes. Performances are on Friday and Saturday night.

Comedy. Grab your tickets to The Laugh Tour Show with comedy performances on Friday and Saturday nights.

Comedy. Check out Hoboken's comedy show, Little City Laughing. Comedy performances start at 8 p.m.!

Dating. Jersey City Connects is hosting a speed dating event (ages 26 to 32) at 902 Brewery.

Festival. JC Families is hosting their FUNtastic Summer event, a fun-filled day for the whole family featuring entertainment, activities, and vendors from local women-owned businesses. The event is in Hamilton Park from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Game Night. Bring your games and head to Panera Bread in Hoboken to play with other board game enthusiasts!

Ice Cream. Come celebrate 10 years of Milk Sugar Love with music, balloons, ice cream, and complimentary cake. The party will take place from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Launch Party. Celebrate Eleven’s first-ever single release at 902 Brewery!

LGBTQ. White Eagle Hall is hosting their annual LGBTQ+ Prom Gala, a remarkable event that embraces the beautiful diversity of the LGBTQ+ community.

Saturday, June 15

Juneteeth. Join the Juneteenth celebration hosted by the Anti-Violence Coalition of Hudson County; the event will feature games, arts and crafts, activities, entertainment, and food and beverages.

Hike. Join Team Wilderness for “Trails & Ales.” Escape the city and spend a day hiking gorgeous trails at Harriman State Park, followed by a trip to a local brewpub for lunch.

Local Market. Explore the Handmade Market, an open-air bazaar featuring local artists and makers selling fine art and premium hand-crafted goods. The market is open from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Mental Health. Head to Lincoln Park for a Brain Health & Community Resource Fair. Enjoy brain games, over 75 health and human services vendors, Zumba and Tai Chi sessions, giveaways, and more!

Open Mic. Green Space Studios presents an open mic night. There will be a 10-slot open mic for dance, song, and poetry, along with an ongoing arts and crafts collab.

Run. Join Jersey City Runners for a morning run at Grove Street. Runners of all levels are welcome!

Theater. Experience "The Feminist's Handbook for Eastern Europe," a captivating blues cabaret that delves into themes of feminism and societal norms. This modern cabaret show will be performed at Jersey City Theater Center.

Volunteer. Head to Harimus Cemetery for their Saturday volunteer clean-ups, which start at 9 a.m. and run until 2 p.m. Sadly neglected and abandoned in early 2008, the Jersey City & Harsimus Cemetery is now being saved and preserved by volunteers. Walk. The Hudson River Color Walk is a fitness walk from Pier A Park in Hoboken to the Holi Hai Color Festival venue at Montgomery Street in Jersey City. The walk starts around 10:30 a.m. and is approximately 1.5 miles.
